The family of John Jones, along with Utah County officials, has decided to seal the Nutty Putty cave with Jones' body still inside. The cave will be closed off and a permanent memorial will be built at the site.
The 26-year-old man was an experienced spelunker, who died after getting stuck in a tight crevice near an area of the cave known as Bob's Push. A massive, 27-hour rescue effort ended after Jones passed away.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, a recovery mission to retrieve the body was considered, but the area inside the cave is so small, it was determined as too dangerous for rescue crews. The decision to turn the cave into Jones' final resting place was made on Friday.
Officials have not yet decided how to seal the cave, but the entrance will be guarded around-the-clock until the Nutty Putty Cave is closed forever.

I am sure by this time cave rats have devoured the entire body of john jones, he deserved a better end than this. The rescuers could have drilled a well-type hole in the ground if they had tried.
