I just received an email from Captain Rodney Smith, Coastal Angler Magazine CEO, about a great event to support the great fishing eco-system, the Indian River Lagoon.
Captain Rodney Smith said, " Come experience the first Eco-Escape Day on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the Lagoon House on the Indian River Lagoon. Join the Palm Bay community for a morning full of fun, education and rewarding opportunities.
At this free event you will learn how to save time and money by changing the ways you interact with your yard and garden. There will be revolving centers between 9 and 11 a.m. on topics like erosion control and shoreline planting, water quality and fertilizing, how to plant trees and native plant landscaping, using effective ground cover and mulch, litter control, recycling and volunteerism.
Also there will be a presentation on Indian River Lagoon fishing opportunities by Palm Bay's inshore guide, Captain Gary Giles, and free raffles and giveaways, plus a free gift for each participant.
It’s a great deal—win prizes and learn how to save time and money, all while having a fun and rewarding experience landscaping, gardening and learning more about the economics of our Indian River Lagoon Coast’s ecosystem.
The Lagoon House is located on the Indian River Lagoon at 3275 Dixie Hwy (U.S. 1) two miles south of US-192."
I plan to attend and learn more about how to support the Indian River Lagoon.
