Walker Smith is a lifelong student of the Christian faith. He rediscovered the faith of his fathers, The Episcopal Church, and began his upward journey that would take him back home to the True Faith: Orthodoxy. He was chrismated an Orthodox Christian on June 8, 2007 taking the Christian name Herman after Fr. Herman of Alaska, the first North American Saint of the Orthodox Church of America. On November 23rd 2009, He was tonsured and ordained to the minor clergy rank of Reader. He happily serves Holy Ascension Church in Mt. Pleasant SC. He is happy to "be back in cassock" as he was a special services lay reader at the Church of the Holy Communion (Episcopal) when he was an Anglo Catholic. He is a vigorous defender of the Orthodox Faith and loves a good debate. Contact Walker at OrthodoxGuardian@gmail.com.
