Recently at a bridal shower my sister, the bride, opened one of those “ah ha” gifts – it was the “Wine Wedge.” While all the shower guests secretly thought "why I didn’t think of that" it was passed around and admired for its simplicity and practicality.
The Wine Wedge is two wedges designed to be placed on the two sides of a stack of wine bottles in a pyramid shape (as shown in the picture). The Wine Wedge, to add to its simplicity, is made of rubber. You can put your pyramid of wine bottles in the fridge or on the counter and avoid purchasing an expensive wine rack. The Wine Wedge is only $9.95 at Crate and Barrel.
In addition to the price and simplicity of the Wine Wedge I challenge you to think outside the box. I can see using this invention for more than just wine – it’s a Bottle Wedge to me. Consider using it for:
- Liquor bottles (August is Tequila Month, maybe it should be the 'Tequila Wedge'?!)
- Soda/Pop cans
- Condiments
- Baseball bats (on a shelf in the garage)
Can you think of other uses for the Wine Wedge?
This is such a simple idea that has such a practical application in our homes. Multiple sets of Wine Wedges can help us keep our bottles organized. Consider using one set for white wines and another set for red wines. There are a lot of possibilities with the Wine Wedge. Have fun stacking and have fun sorting!
