Alice Waters, Anthony Bourdain and Duff Goldman on organic food

If it turns out that the winning contestant in the upcoming “The Next Food Network Star” happens to be a cook/chef who uses and promotes the gamut of organic foods---from meat to produce---the network’s organic food viewers will do a happy dance. Up until now, mention of “O” foods has been minimal.

However, one of their current stars, Ace of Cakes’ Duff Goldman, and former Food Network star Anthony Bourdain,  recently squared off with Alice Waters, the original mover and shaker in the 70s organic food movement. She is, through and through, dedicated to organic foods.

Though Bourdain buys organic milk for his 2-year-old, as a chef, his priority is to deliver taste, not necessarily organically-grown foods. Goldman is on board with the idea of knowing where your food comes from.

The debate lasts about seven minutes. It’s interesting and healthy to watch three high-profile people involved in the field of food share their views on one of our most basic needs. (Warning: Some profanity is used by Bourdain and Goldman.)

It’s worthy of note that three of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s executive chefs---Chef Jack Shoop (Philadelphia medical facility), Chef Kenny Wagoner (Tulsa medical facility), and Chef Frank Caputo (suburban Phoenix medical facility) deliver organic foods that taste good to advanced and complex cancer patients at their facilities. All three gentlemen have shared their involvement with organic foods in this space.

Adam, you seem to feel your POV is the only one worth considering. My position is strong, as well. The difference between us that I'm willing to hear your views, and respect you for them. Nothing changes if we hold only to our views.
