Obama admin suggested to Scotland to use "compassionate grounds" to release Lockerbie bomber

Just weeks ago Obama spewed this about the release of the Lockerbie bomber, Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, by the Scottish government. Our President, Barack Obama, disingenuously claimed last week that all Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" to learn of Megrahi's release.

The Obamaite that intervened was Richard LeBaron, deputy head of the US embassy in London, a week before Megrahi was freed in August last year. LeBaron’s letter to the Scottish First Minister stated that the US wanted Megrahi to remain imprisoned in view of the nature of the crime. The note added:

Nevertheless, if Scottish authorities come to the conclusion that Megrahi must be released from Scottish custody, the US position is that conditional release on compassionate grounds would be a far preferable alternative to prisoner transfer, which we strongly oppose.”

Essential Obama out of one corner of his mouth bashes the Brits and Scots for letting the bomber go for oil money and out of the other corner says “kick the bum out and don’t forget to send me my share of the Libyan payoff!” Link to the LeBaron Letter.

The letter was from the Hillary's domain. The State Department released a brief statement by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is on vacation, saying she is "deeply disappointed" by the decision to release al-Megrahi.  (Liar liar)

What’s this means is the Obama White House always lies or the Obama White House lies, always.

Your reasoning is broken on its face - look at the quote and see how mismatched it is from your characterisation of it. Saying "I really don't want you to do this, but if you must do it please do it in this way" is two clauses. The presence of the latter does not negate the former. Governments often negotiate this way - if you had the text of BushSr's corrispondences with other nations, you would probably find many instances of this kind of message. We know this because BushSr was very competent in foreign affairs, and expressing complex preferences is part of diplomacy.

Sadly, our "commander in chief" is greedy, corrupt and works for those who are corrupt and greedy. Our global friends pity us and our enemies rejoice.

Wonder how many who read this article actually went and read the lebaron letter which shows that this article is a complete fabrication? Another right wing lunatic site? Please people, come back to America. We need you.

Here's the letter if you're too stupid to click the link and actually read it:

    BEGIN TEXT OF ENCLOSURE:

-- We greatly appreciate the Scottish Government's continued willingness to solicit the views of the United States and the families of its victims with respect to a decision on Megrahi's transfer. This issue is of great importance to the United States.

-- We understand that Scottish law permits the Scottish Government to release individuals in Scottish custody on license if there are compassionate grounds justifying the release, and that as a matter of practice such release is not granted unless the prisoner has a life expectancy of less than three months. We also understand that the Scottish judiciary has the ability to grant bail, and in the case of M
