Obama's in Moscow with the possible VBH clutch
The White House denies that FLOTUS was carrying the ultra-trendy $6000 clutch purse while walking with her husband, President Barack Obama, during their meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev despite the claims of the manufacture otherwise. The White House claims she was carrying an $875 patent leather clutch instead. Kelly Vitko, a rep for the company was quoted, "It’s definitely ours."
Seems insignificant compared to a $13000 a night hotel suite or a $60,000 plus date night. What is significant is that the American people can not believe anything that comes from the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. American’s aren’t stupid we when Michelle Obama earned major fashion cred with bag lovers when she wore the cobalt blue version of this Ballerina Bag by cult-favorite VBH at the American Ballet Theatre for the opening spring gala at the Metropolitan Opera House in May.
Adding insult to injury, an $875 patent bag is lavish to most Americans as are $540 Lanvin sneakers or $100 per pound beef. What bothers the voters is when we’re call to sacrifice and the Obama’s are living a fairytale lifestyle at the taxpayer’s expense. Why lie, she can afford it and it is not unreasonable that if she owns one VBH why not two or three. Just be honest about it, that is what American’s want.

The Obama's continue to tell us that what we see (about them)in terms of their 'say do' divide is not true...we are mistaken, our eyes deceive us. It is what they tell us, we are told, we must believe not how they behave that is authentic HUH!.

I'm with Saladin. The usual merry band of nitpickers (the same individuals who most likely defended the hundreds of days Bush took for vacations) are so desperate to attack the Obamas and the President's administration that they will fixate on anything -- absolutely anything. As usual, it screams of desperation, boredom and a touch of hysteria. Kudos, however, to the haters, because in their ignorance they are never short of amusing material and they rarely disappoint.

Laura Bush has worn couture the whole time she's been married into the royal Bush family (they call the matriarch "Maj" for "her majesty"!) If she didn't, they'd be so mean to her she wouldn't be able to stand it. They are uber rich...they buy expensive things. The Obamas can't go to K-mart all the time; give her a nice purse once in a while. Living in that fishbowl? She deserves a good handbag! Hope we paid full price for it, too.
Obama 's do not care how they spend my money. All politians are in it for the power and for greed.. while the working class pays and pays and pays.
Leading by example? Yep, while we Americans are dealing double digit unemployment, unprecedented federal budget deficits, a failing economy and crumbling stock markets, the Obama are living the high life with weekend jaunts for shopping Paris, weekend jaunts to New York City for culture and ....uh..shopping. They really set the pace for America's economic comeback, as they mirror the behavior of Kim Jong Il, Hugo Chaves and the Castro brothers. Enjoying all the finery special interests and lobbyists can bestow upon them.
Nice, I'd like a nice tall glass of Chicago Style Political Corruption to go along this huge plate of Executive Incompetence we have in this shameful excuse for a president.

Please, lets be reasonable. She is the First Lady, like it or not, she is there. I, personally would not like her to represent our country in Wednesday childs attire.
I am on SSI, no wealthy, I am a veit vet, but I still say she should dress as she can "afford" on the salary provided, NOT on taxpayer dollars. BUT, with that said, many of the clothes that are worn by Government Officials are "provided" as gifts, and choked up to advertising by high society retailers.
I am more concerned about thier constant travels and the cost to taxpayers to provide thier "jet setting" life style. He is the most traveled President I have ever seen. Hell, if I was elected to the White House, I would want to be there as much as possible as I would be so overwhelmed that my country would elect me to live there.

What a frickin JOKE. she got a $350,000 a YEAR job as a sinecure from Chicago hospital system after Obama became US Senator. She didnt earn a danged thing in that sweeatheart job, it was a payoff; both the Obamas grifted like all Chicago pols from the Chicago system, like that million-dollar home they got from a deal with Tony Rezko. Nice deal if you are an insider to the corrupt system, not available to the rest of us suckers.
They spend money that they didnt really earn in ways that show they havent a clue how ordinary Americans have to spend money. They havent a clue how to save, how to invest, how to sacrifice, how to be fiscally prudent and frugal.
They are out of touch royalty now. And we will pay the bill for their folly.
Last Christmas my daughter was going to work at a homeless shelter (yeh she's a great kid!) and she had a pair of Prada shoes that had been bought on sale a year or so before (by a too grnerous relative), since it was Christmas season and they were silver I guess she thought they would look festive. As she walked to the door I told her to please change her shoes. To which she responded "Why?" I said it was unseemly, cold, and insensitive to other's plight, she felt extremely bad about her thoughtless choice and went and changed her shoes. Interesting that a sixteen year old got it but Michele Obama does not?
