This space embraces the notion of openness in adoption.
As previously reported, today is the Adoptee Rights Demonstration in Philadelphia, which coincides with a meeting of the National Council of State Legislators, and aims to open birth records to all adoptees in all states.
To follow the event, click here or here throughout the day. This reporting is done via Twitter, a microblogging service.
You can see tweets (short posts via Twitter) from people who are at the demonstration, both in words and in images, as well as from others who are inquiring and "watching" from afar. You can read these tweets today and at any time in the future.
If you have a Twitter account, you can chime in as well by including "#ardphilly" or "#adopteerights" in your tweets. The hashtag (#) is what ties the discussion together.

It's exciting that this is happening today and you have provided a way to deep up with what's happening.
I was picking up my sons' new birth certificates yesterday (since my husband adopted them), and I commented to the woman in Vital Records, "It's amazing how important this little piece of paper is..." and she fully agreed.
Thank you so much for posting this! it is absolutely time for adoptive parents to get behind this issue and support our children's right to access their original birth certificates!
