Not slowing down after the release of Season One, League of Legends has revealed the latest champion to the league lineup, Vladimir, the Crimson Reaper.
Vladimir, the Crimson Reaper appears to be some sort of homage from the combined styling of both World of Warcraft's Blood Council and Serathis the Blood Mage from the fairly popular MOBA from the Warcraft III scene, Tides of Blood (Vladimir features an ability called Tides of Blood which is definitely not a coincidence.)
As Serathis from the Tides of Blood map utilized a unique system in which he would cast spells using his own hit points, Vladimir keeps the theme alive with lifedrain, regeneration, healing, and a passive linking health and ability power. Let's look over Vladimir, the Crimson Reaper's abilities:
Transfusion: Vladimir drains the lifeforce of his target, dealing magic damage and healing himself for 25% of that amount.
Sanguine Pool: Vladimir sinks into a pool of blood for 2.5 seconds, becoming untargetable and slowing enemies above him. Vladmir deals magic damage to targets above him and heals himself for 15% of that amount.
Tides of Blood: Vladimir unleashes a torrent of blood, damaging surrounding enemies. Additionally, multiple Tides of Blood in a short period of time cause them to cost additional health and deal additional damage, and increases his healing and regeneration by 8%.
Hemoplague (Ultimate): Vladimir infects the target area with a virulent plague increases the damage they take for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, infected enemies take magic damage.
Crimson Pact (Passive) : Bonus health gives Vladimir bonus ability power, and every bonus ability power gives Vladimir bonus health (does not stack with itself).
Vladimir is coming to the League of Legends on the heels of Xin Zhao, widely regarded as overpowered in current play and one of the league's most banned champions. Vladimir, with a hefty amount of healing, hit points, and David Bowie flair, has the potential to become League of Legends's hottest new champion.
