Cancel AND x? Two chances to change your mind!
If you remember, eHarmony was sued because they weren't providing services for the gay community. So they launched Compatible Partners, which is exactly like eHarmony, except only for gay people. Separate, but equal. (Oh, except for the disclaimer that says they're not sure their personality test WORKS for gay people.)
Either way, JaySays had a post today about an interesting pop-up that shows up if you try to select "Man for Man" or "Woman for Woman" on eHarmony. You get a lovely blue box that asks if you're really SURE you want to go to Compatible Partners, with big bold letters reminidng you that it is for same sex relationships.
There's even two chances to click the HELL NO option - a cancel button and an X. I wonder if they're trying to convince you to give being straight a try.
The eHarmony blog (the unofficial guide to eHarmony news) points out that if you select your location as the UK, there's no big popup asking you to confirm if you really want to be redirected to the UK site.

*grumble* What is it with mainstream dating sites and their blindness to bisexuality. Why do I need to be on two slightly different sites instead of one :-/
I'm sorry, but I think eHarmony's more like a cult than some cults out there. Why in the hell would I, as a gay male, want to use anything even smelling like an eHarmony site? Especially since they're not sure their test works as well as that damned offensive "are you sure?" box?
EHarmony wouldn't know how to help gay singles if Ellen converted them AND gave away the toaster oven.
I love this article lol! Obviously I have never utilized eHarmony, but I can honestly say that the commercials on television have so much "June and Ward Cleaver cheese" dumped all over them, that I can't imagine anyone who is truly in touch with reality taking this site seriously. Go to okcupid.com. If nothing else at lease the quizzes and surveys are fun!
