Stephen Colbert and USA bobsled, an amazing race

Stephen Colbert continued his support of the USA Olympic Team by experiencing the ride of his lifetime with the USA Bobsledders.

In a low-publicized Comedy Central filming, scheduled to air before the Vancouver Olympics, he surprised all fans at the Lake Placid, NY bobsled track today.

After the FIBT International Bobsled World Cup event finished, the Colbert Report host leaped into a 4-man bobsled and joined an American team, the current FIBT World Cup Bobsled World Champions, for a 60-second run down the icy track.

At speeds approaching 60 miles per hour, he bobbed along with driver Steve Holcomb, Justin Olsen and Kurt Tomasevicz.

After crossing the finish line, in front of several hundred cheering fans, he slowly pried himself out of the jammed sled - frazzled and winded.

But, he quickly regrouped and lead the crowd in chanting "U-S-A", as he waved the American flag.

All smiles, he asked the fellow sledders, "Did you hear me screaming like a little girl?"

And about the bouncing back and forth along this mile-long track, he said, "It was like losing the worst snowball fight in your life."

His bright red, tight-fitting sledding uniform showed-off his lean body, accented with generous padding in his crotch. And his backside was adorned with a corporate sponsor's bumper stickers - reminiscent of the emblems recently worn by the USA Speedskating team, that his show is now supporting.

While the sledders warmed-down from the run, he promptly asked where the restroom was, and could be seen heading to the nearest outhouse.
