LOS ANGELES,Calif.--A Los Angeles man's joy at finding his long lost parents turned to anguish when he found out his father is notorious cult leader, Charles Manson.
41-year-old Matthew Roberts, who bares a striking resemblance to his infamous father, told The London Sun it was like finding out Adolf Hitler is your father.
Put up for adoption in 1968,Roberts began investigating his family's history 12 years ago after contacting a social services agency who was able to locate his biological mother Terry in Wisconsin.
After confirming she was his mother one crucial bit of information remained a mystery, who was his father?
Terry remained guarded as to the identity of the father until Matthew pressed her for details.
Terry eventually told Matthew she had been transfixed by Charles Manson's charms and joined the family in San Francisco in 1967, once there she claims she was raped by Manson during a drug-fueled orgy.
After returning home and giving birth to Matthew who was born March 22,1968 Terry had always believed Manson was the father. The pictures of Roberts confirmed her worst fears.
Roberts told the newspaper: "I didn't want to believe it. I was frightened and angry."
"I'm a peaceful person-trapped in the face of a monster"
Roberts who makes his living as a DJ,said he wrote to his alleged father, who replied with notes and postcards with signed with a swastika.
75-year-old Charles Manson is serving a life sentence at Corcoran State Prison in California for the nine gruesome murders committed in the summer of 1969.
Manson confirmed he was Roberts father saying "The truth is the truth. The truth hurts."
Roberts who says he is extremely non-violent, reveals mixed emotions about his infamous father saying "I don't want to love him, but I don't want to hate him either"

dude thats so weird that your dad is Charles Manson..right on..does he act like he is insane when you write him..or is he being like a true father that just found out he has a son? Also..do you ever want to see him face to face?
Cindy - I don't think that the Matt Roberts who authored this article is the same Matt Roberts IN the article. Pretty weird coinkydink though.

The Matt Roberts in the story is not the Matt Roberts who wrote it.. however, it is a weird coincidence. Great story Matt! And if I was this guy, I think I'd forget about having a "father".. Manson was just the sperm donor, this man's real father was the guy who adopted and raised him with love and respect for himself and others.
