LONDON - A one-week-old Cocker Spaniel's toilet bath recently turned into septic pipe purgatory before local plumbers managed to push and pull the pup to safety.
The pup's four-year-old master told officials and a comforting Mom he tried to clean the muddy mutt with a rinse in the loo, but went too far and flushed the poopy-looking pup away.
Firefighters and the local humane society were on the scene for hours before someone decided to call the local Dyno-Rod Plumbing and Drains operation.
Upon arrival, they advised all the neighbors to hold off on any more flushing until they could locate the puppy.
Using closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment, the plumbing crew located the stuck pup and filmed the rest of the rescue -- now well-earned marketing documentary awaiting viral fame on the YouTube network.
The CCTV "equipment was used to gently push him through the drainage system to the next manhole where a fireman was waiting to rescue him," according to the company's new Web page dedicated to Dyno-Rod's dogged efforts to save the puppy.
The rescue service was free, a local vet checked out the limber spaniel as unhurt and the pet was named "Dyno" in honor of the rescue crew of plumbers.
Ahem, the remaining question: "What's a four-year-old lad doing alone with a one-week-old pup, Mom?"
Never mind.
You've probably already asked yourself the same question.
All is well that ends well.
