'Snail Face' kid survives 43 snails on his face

World Record: 43 snails sucking face

Jealous kids will probably bully him with "Snail Face" teasing, but Fin Keheler, 11, of Sandy, UT has earned the dubious distinction of surviving 43 snails simultaneously sucking his face.

Apparently the snails didn't fully cooperate at first. It took four attempts to really seal the deal for the world record on Keheler's 11th birthday.

What a birthday party to remember!

Keheler had to keep at least 37 snails on his face for ten seconds to tie the old record and the kid wasn't satisfied to beat the old record by one measly mollusk.

He gathered snails from neighbors' gardens.

The first count left 30 snails a sucking. The second time, 35 slimsters stayed in place. He actually beat the record on the third try, managing to get 38 snails to stick. On the fourth and final try, victory was his, with 43 snails in place for the allotted time.

"I'm not grossed out by snails like most people are," Keheler told the Associated Press, which is apparently not grossed out by recessionary cutbacks on unnecessary reporters.

No snails were harmed during the production of this world record event.
