Republican prayer on healthcare reform blows up in their face

Christmasimages.com

 Before the healthcare reform vote in the Senate, Republican senator Tom Coburn, who had already distinguished himself as someone not worth listening to, urged Americans to pray that "somebody cant make the vote tonight. That's what they ought to pray".

Well, maybe conservatives got a message they weren't too happy about because their prayer was answered. Except it was conservative Republican senator James Inhofe who opposed the healthcare bill who couldnt make the vote..

You would think that  those Reublicans and conservatives who consider themselves religiousmight  look at that as a message and reconsider their positions on healthcare reform. But  that would require that they not be rank hypocrites so it;s not likely.

There was also a national "prayercast" on the internet where conservatives gathered together on the net to pray for the defeat of the bill. That didnt seem to get the results they wanted either.

With a conservative Republican who opposed healthcare being the one who "couldnt make it"maybe these Republicans and conservatives, especially the so called religious conservatives opposing health care might want to ponder if this was a divine finger being wagged at them ( I'm not suggesting which finger).

Certainly if a Democratic senator hadn't shown up they would have taken it as a divine sign that their prayers were answered and they were truly on the side of right after all.

Now that the opposite has occurred and it was a Republican opposed to the healthcare bill that couldnt make it,  it would be interesting to know how many of them are lying awake at night staring at the ceiling, thinking about the meaning of the answer to their prayers.

And we will see how many of those on the religious right change their positions. Probably none. But they'll all still show up at church on Christmas day.

    Democratic swine. Liberal junkie who never had a real job. What gives you the right to determine how I earn my living? As a healthcare provider, I find this bill a travesty. It's just a bunch of hippies who want to feel good before the holiday lacking any foresight on its ramifications on a lazy public. Good article for a faithful swine. Why don't you get a real job? Because you have no real talent or skills. English degrees don't serve society. Get out of the country along with all the other poor folks who don't want to participate in their own responsibility. You're not worth it.

    By the way, if you're a health care provider, I'm the Pope.

    The Passage of the Healthcare Reform Bill, by both Houses, is a Historic Movement, for The American People.

    We must Now Refocused on, Properly Deploying HIT Solutions and Training, to Contained our SkyRocketing Healthcare Spending. If, we Properly Deployed HIT, we can realized a Cost Savings of around 20-30% of our Annual Natioal Healthcare Expenditures (2008, $ 2.5 Trillions).

    This Healthcare Bill is criminal, how can you justify facing imprisonment or being fined for not purchasing a government plan. It's idiocy of both the House and the Senate for passing such a terrible bill bought by bribes. I am all for reform but not a government takeover like:

    GM = Failure
    Banker Bailout = Failure
    Healthcare will = Failure
    The US Constitution = Bush's and Obama's Toilet Paper!
