I would like to think my good friend Candy Padilla for the wonderful image of Marquis Cooper. I composed the following as a tribute for the three young men who have lost thier lives at sea.
Mother Sea’s Womb

Dedicated to Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith, and Will Bleakley
The sea, the great mother
From which all life springs
Beauty beyond compare
Beneath the surface
She is the great taker
Reclaiming life on demand
Out to sea to fish
As many times before
They sailed from shore
Mother sea was hungry
As they sailed away
Unaware of coming fate
The seas grew too rough
As she brought them home
Back into her womb
Three men she took
On that faithful day
Young lives cut short
Friends, families
And a Nation mourn
These men lost at sea
The great mother
Called them home to
Immortality
