The Oakland Raiders announced their preseason schedule today. After not leaving the West Coast last season, they have added some travel to their itinerary. The travel to Dallas and Chicago, before playing the 49ers and Seahawks at home.
With the opening preseason tilt being at the Jones-Mahal in Dallas, the Raiders renew their preseason series that they had with the Cowboys for much of the 90s. This could mean that there are plans in the works for a resumption of joint practices, as they had as recently as 1998.
The Raiders will be traveling to Soldier Field for the first time since 2003. It will be the ninth tilt against the Monsters of the Midway.
Week three sees the San Francisco 49ers make the trip across the bay to renew the annual "Battle of the Bay" series. The 49ers won last year's match-up at Candlestick Park.
The final preseason game will be a battle with the Seattle Seahawks. For the last three years the Raiders have traveled to Qwest Field to play the Seahawks. This will be the 'Hawks first trip to Oakland since 2002.
