The Oakland Raiders completed their ninth day of training camp with a single afternoon practice. They were visited by Raider great Steve Wisniewski and Stanford coach John Harbaugh.
- Both Darrius Heyward-Bey and Chaz Schilens had big plays today. I will have a comprehensive look at the Raiders top three receivers later tonight.
- Jason Campbell was on target. His rough day was behind him.
- Darren McFadden, who had been quiet in camp flashed some of that playmaking ability he was supposed to have.
- The Raiders spent more time on two minute drills today. Strangely enough, that was one of the few things that wasn't a big problem last season. They had late touchdowns to win or go ahead against the Chargers, in Kansas City, against the Bengals, in Pittsburgh, and in Denver. The defense let the Chargers answer in week one, but four out of the Raiders five wins were come from behind. Even more surprising was that three of those late touchdowns were with JaMarcus Russell at quarterback.
- Tom Cable spoke of the possibility of using Lamarr Houston at fullback on the goal line. If that happens, there will be some linebackers with headaches.
- Zach Miller had to get some work on the sidelines. He was back in drills soon after with his usual effectiveness. Zach getting hurt would be a worse case scenario for this offense.
Later tonight, a look at the Raiders receiving trio of Louis Murphy, Chaz Schilens, and Darrius Heyward-Bey.
