The play of Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye who are ostensibly fighting for the third string quarterback spot behind Garcia and JaMarcus Russell were getting perilously close to challenging for Garcia's number two spot.
Russell said of the advice that Garcia has given him, "Uhh, by him being around, he sees some of the things that we talk about in the quarterback room. Whatever goes on, he has an input in it. If you can use it, take it but if it's something that you're not used to doing then you get to let him keep the better end of the stick and go from there. It is good to get some advice from someone."
To give an example, Russell continued, "That makes it easier at practice. Sometimes the guy's bringing a fire zone blitz and the end drops and he tell you, 'Think about it. If this guy on this side and they bring the safety to this side, most the time if this guy's dropping they're going to have the corner soft so work this side or give him a good look before you take your eyes off him.' Things like that help, get you ready for that picture. If you know that it's coming and you see this guy's dropping, and you have no chance to get into that route when the corner's soft up there then so be it. That's a lot of the things that he does for anticipating. He has seen so many defenses over his years and kind of knows it a little bit. Other than, things are going to be good having him."

Jamarcus would be foolish not to listen to Garcia. The areas Russell lacks in are the ares where Garcia is solid. Pocket pressence, decision making, preparartion, mobility & most importasntly, leadership. The only ares where Russell is superior is in arm strengh, and general health. I really hope Russell get its, otherwise, it will be another wasted draft pick and we'll be watching a mediocre QB for years.
