After a long weekend of some much needed rest and relaxation, its time to get back to the grindstone. Today is a look around at the various happenings with the Oakland Raiders and the Raider Nation. Later tonight, I will begin the All-50 Oakland Raiders team series.
Fly the friendly skies?
The Oakland Raiders officially announced their partnership with AirAsia, following up on a story that was broken in this space on May 20th.
Thank you to reader NERaider for alerting me to this article from the Mylasia Mail that references my original story on the plane. (The decision to disallow links was made by examiner.com, not me.) In a related article, there are many in Malaysia who are upset that AirAsia chose a sponsorship deal with an American Football team over any of their local sports teams. It is arather odd move, since AirAsia does not fly into the Us. However, "global branding" is one of the favorite corporate watch words, and definitely apply in this case.
The questions that haven't been asnwered is whether the flight attendants will be wearing Raiderette unifroms, (doubtful) or whether Denver Bronco fans will be allowed on board. (likely)
Slide Show Side Show
My apologies for the slide show issues on Thursday's post. I spent a couple of hourse color fixing, cropping, and uploading pictures for that slide show, had the post set, and apparently technical difficulties ensued.
Questions
Thank you to all who have sent in questions. I will be answering them in a post in the near future. If you have questions to ask patrick at tfdssports.com.
