Napa County: Tom Cable did not punch Randy Hanson

After review of all of the evidence, Randy Hanson's broken jaw was not the result of a a punch thrown by Tom Cable, but in in fact due to an accident.

Cable 'was approaching' Hanson and 'bumped' into Lionel Washington who was coming between Cable and Hanson, this knocked into Hanson who was leaning back in his chair, and this resulted in Hanson breaking his jaw. This story was confirmed by the other coaches who were present. The district attorney could not even confirm Hanson's allegations that Cable made verbal threats.

Cable has maintained throughout that once the story came out he would be vindicated, and he would maintain his faith in the system. With the district attorney not only neglecting to file charges, but clearly stating "This case is not worthy of the criminal justice system" his assertion has been borne out.

Randy Hanson told the district attorney's office, "Since I am not getting what I want from the organization, I am going to aid in the prosecution." The question becomes what did Hanson want from the Raiders. Did he want a promotion? Cable's firing? This exposes questions about the background of the Raiders organization.

Quick quotes from the Napa DA:

"If [Hanson] had been punched, slammed against a wall, and threatened to 'kill him' we would be having a very different conversation."

"Hanson was making statements more extensive to the media than he had to law enforcement."

"There were many inconsistencies and that contributed to our decision in this case."

Alright....No more black cloud hanging over the team. Hanson is clearly a rat who didn't get his cheddar. Cable is cleared and there will be no more (than usual) distractions. A good thing for a team seeking it's identity.

Maybe now they should focus on JeMarcus Russell and his horrid play.

Well it looks like i should read it closer, as explanation was "Cable 'was approaching' Hanson and 'bumped' into Lionel Washington who was coming between Cable and Hanson, this knocked into Hanson who was leaning back in his chair, and this resulted in Hanson breaking his jaw." It still seems a bit suspect to me.
