Why does the Party of Love hate an assertive woman? She’s attractive. She’s approachable. She’s so popular that thousands of people will line up at her book signings. We’re talking about Sarah Palin. Her new book, Going Rogue, is flying off the shelves and was a runaway bestseller before the book was even printed. Her appearance on Oprah drew Oprah her highest ratings in years. As governor of Alaska, she had an 80% approval rating. Obama and Granholm don’t have those numbers combined.
Her downside is she was the VP candidate on a losing ticket but Democrats still despise her, all this vitriol from the ‘Party of Love.’ Democrats claim to be pro-woman. They supposedly are the inclusive, diverse party. Liberal Newsweek Magazine displayed Ms. Palin dressed in running on their cover just to desecrate her.
She actually looks pretty good. Newsweek must be desperate for circulation numbers. Using an attractive Sarah Palin might sell a copy or two at the newsstand. Imagine Newsweek putting Debbie Stabenow or Hillary Clinton clad in running shorts on its cover. The magazine would lose money because their advertisers would demand a refund. The rest of us would need barf bags.
This journalistic immaturity is a prime example of how liberals are petrified of Ms. Palin. She’s appearing before thousands at each stop of her national book tour. Vice President Biden could only muster 200 people during the recent campaign season in Upstate New York. Newsweek is not alone in trashing Palin. CNN and MSNBC will devote an entire evening trying to discredit her.
She lost the election. Yet, liberals decry, ‘she’s a clown, a bimbo, can’t be taken seriously.’ If that were true, let’s put Sarah Palin shoes on some Democrats’ feet. We’ll use Democrats who are buffoons and certainly not taken seriously like Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich or Al Sharpton. Fox News and Talk Radio only mention these two if they need a good laugh. Yet they both ran for president. Kucinich is an easy target. He looks like Dopey; acts like Grumpy and has ears like Dumbo.
The liberal venom towards Sarah Palin is real. So is their fear of her.

Since she does not go along with the democratic ideals-pro life, government run healthcare,illegal immigrants, she is being villified. Not one liberal leaning book has made a best seller list that I know of. The conservative principal will always win out when it is presented in a simple and straight forward manner. That is how she is doing it. Right now she is the peoples choice.

Your contradictions and blatant disregard for rational critique make me tremble at night. You are a moron. It's people like you who are going to bring about the next unjustified war because you pit every situation in an "us vs. them" mentality. Try thinking next time about exactly why people fear the idea of a person like Sarah Palin having real power. I don't mind the inane, off-the-cuff style you write with - but I am horrified that you are labeled a journalist, supposedly reporting news (even if it's opinionated). Have you ever tried empathizing with another person's opinions?
As an Independent, I dislike her because she's uneducated. I believe most people who dislike her do so for that reason. I'd prefer the candidates that run for any office be educated in the areas for which they would govern. The 2008 GOP ticket was a loser as soon as McCain chose her. Independents like myself would have voted for McCain (and he could easily have won with the right pick), but we sure weren't going to vote for him with her on the ticket. I love assertive women, I'm surrounded by them all day, but ignorant assertive women, it's just hard to get past the ignorant part.
Her book is selling because people are interested in her, not for any other reason. People will buy playboy to see Palin's would-be-son-in-law, but that doesn't mean people believe in him or what he stands for. Popularity, whether positive or negative will sell books and when you've got both they sell even better. I think your reading into this too much Gary, but you do so for your own agenda.
You are engaging in simpleminded rhetoric. You assume that all Democrats must be the same, so if we're "The Party Of Love" then we must love someone because she's a) a woman, b) attractive. We're not that shallow, and certainly not that easily categorized.
What we dislike is that she lies, that she's shallow and condescending. It *does* throw us into a panic that such a person is so popular with a sizable portion of the population. It makes us wonder how stupid this sizable portion of the population really IS. That's what has us losing sleep at night.
If Palin were to be elected it would be the end of any semblance of intelligent politics in this country. She'd be "the reality show president." After that, the only hope we as a country would have would be that she'd quit after two and a half years, doing the nation the same favor she did Alaska.

Civil discourse is on hiatus. The pathological hatred engendered against President Bush by the left has intruded into their views on anything that doesn't look, sound, or think as they do. We are left with their caustic comments, pathology of hate, and bilious outpourings at anything from the center out to the right. The behaviors that were abhorrent to them under the Bush administration are unnoticed in this one.
Sarah Palin is a proud representative of the American West, being characterized by people unaccustomed to the American West. She believes in life and liberty and is willing to fight for them. She believes in freedom and family. She believes in a government that works for the people, is prudent with its finances, is prepared to defend the nation's borders, and seeks to remain small and responsive. She believes in individual responsibility and in providing every man, woman, and child with the opportunity to seek success and happiness as a productive, involved citizen.

Could you please back up your statement "liberals are petrified of Palin" with some actual proof and facts? I don't see any actual interviews with petrified liberals or reference to any credible journalistic works on the subject. What's your point? At least you give a good example and proof of "journalistic immaturity".
