The 2010 Miss America title was awarded to Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron.  The pageant took place on Saturday, January 30 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Former Saved by the Bell star Mario Lopez hosted the 89 year-old pageant with style guru Clinton Kelly, from TLC's What Not to Wear.

Cameron was judged by 2001's Miss America Katie Harman, Olympic gold medalist winner Shawn Johnson, former American Idol contestant Brooke White, Rush Limbaugh and musician Dave Koz.

Cameron, a senior majoring in broadcast journalism at the Virginia Commonwealth University, was given the crown from current Miss America, Katie Stam, 23.  Along with the title, she took home $50,000.

Cameron, a 22 year-old native of Virginia, felt that video games, among other entertainment outlets, were contributing to the laziness of young children.  "Take away the TV, take away the video games, set some standards for our children!" she stated  during her interview.  She also added that she believed parents should encourage their kids to play outdoors, wishing that they were "playing imaginary games with sticks in the street like I did when I was little."

"You can be and become anything that you want to be, even Miss America," Cameron, who seemed genuinely shocked at her victory, stated.

wow seriously Miss America you had to take a shot at videogames. I played football, basketball, baseball, track and field for 13 years since the youth leagues and I'm a hardcore gamer and I'm an avid outdoorsmen so don't associate games with laziness it's the people that are lazy. And your alternative is have kids run out in the middle of the road and play with sticks dodging traffic and child molesters wow you are a retard. But I guess since your Miss America you know everything and are a genius. LOL HAHAHA your a braindedad idiot who walks around in bikinis and get all your awards off how good you look. Instead of blaming games maybe look at the people playing them.

Video games and TV have nothing to do with being lazy. If a child is lazy, that's because they were to begin with. This goes for creativity too. A kid can be inspired by anything, not just playing with sticks. How about the art and music that goes into television shows and video games? What of the story behind the shows and games? Sure, you can go walk outside, take a stroll, shoot some hoops, hit a ball, maybe a get kidnapped, meet some shady people, get shot, or all other things while you're out there.
I may be exaggerating a bit, but my point is that going outside is just as bad as staying in. At least if the kids are glued to the TV or video games, you know where and what they're doing. If you got to complain about anything, you've got to look at the parents who can't control their kid.
Besides, what's that saying about the people who made these shows and games? Many of their experiences came from playing other games also. You can't say you can't gain anything from video games.

This still doesn't sit well with me. I sense an epic repercussion coming from this whole fiasco. Games arn't a bad thing, and it irritates me that people group all gamers together, when we're clearly not. The fact of the matter is that we are gamers by choice and that's our own decision that only we have to live with.
