The scene took a turn for the ridiculous Friday night as the Air Guitar World Championships came to Brooklyn Bowl to hold its New York regional contest. Twenty of the city's most ambitious goofballs jumped, pranced, flailed and gesticulated on stage for a rowdy, beer-throwing audience and three acerbic and abusive judges, including The Daily Show's Jason Jones.
Friday's winner, Ricky Stickfinger, whose performance included a leap from the stage and pantomimed brawling, will compete this summer with the nation's elite air guitarists in the national finals at Irving Plaza.
