The Brokelyn Beer Book, mentioned here last week, sold out within hours. The Brokelyn 25, a new feature, we will be reporting on each of the Brooklyn bars included in the book over the next several weeks. Visit Brokelyn for more details on the book and how to get on the waiting list for the next edition.
Familiar to regular readers as the performance space that hosts acts like The Roots, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Drug Rug, Brooklyn Bowl ups the ante by also having a great stand alone bar, not to mention the whole bowling alley part.
The beer selection includes a huge selection of local brews including many from the neighboring Brooklyn Brewery.
The food, supplied by Blue Ribbon has gotten much attention. It's totally warranted. Really, what better snack when bowling than an overflowing platter of pork rinds? The chicken is legendary and really that covers the core of your fried food groups.
Really though, what makes Brooklyn Bowl so decadent isn't the food or drink. In a city where every square inch seems to be at a premium, the luxury of Brooklyn Bowl is how much room there is. Besides the lanes, there is also an abundance of room fo revelers to gather with friends to drink and eat and enjoy themselves
Up front the tavern space serves as the closest thing to a restaurant area. Right next ot that is additional lounging space in the front of the house. The second bar, in the back of the audience space has a row of bar stools for customers to and there are benches and tables and couches in the audience area to offer even more seating. whether there's a show on or not.
