Now imagine a muuuch wilder crowd.
Some scenes are just so wild that they deserve extra special mention.
One such consistent party is "Vandam Sundays" a no holds barred only below 14th st. type party. Its part of the new vanguard of eco-friendly dance/club space Greenhouse. Greenhouse is the country's first fully eco-dance club. Greenhouse in itself is worthy of a post and will get one from me relatively soon. For now back to Vandam.
What makes Vandam such a great party is that its old school village wild. Sunday night has burlesque dancers, draq queens, transexuals, and who know what else. Its a party for all the vampantly do what makes me happy crowd. It fits all to well since its right on the border of the West Village if you know you're history at all. (Chants of YMCA anyone?) If you're from out of town and want to see something truly wild but within reason, this is your spot. Look the spot doesn't even open to 10...aaah true downtown nightlife flavor.
I personally would recommend it for well gay people and the real fun loving. They have a lot of 80's and early 90's throwback grooves and the person who hosts the party, Susanne Bartsch is a well known and beloved downtonwn promoter. With a venue this interesting and clientiele even more interesting the is one spot that makes Sundays one of the true can't miss nights in New York.
Awright yaw, I'm out and about.
