Vienna Girardi's break up from ex Bachelor love Jake Pavelka was public and ugly. But come on, let's face it -- don't all big break ups feel public and butt out ugly? Vienna did the right thing this weekend though by hosting a big Las Vegas bash called Single and Fabulous.
Yes, we love it! Single AND Fablulous.
This party is defintely Goddess Passionista and Miss Picky approved. Wonderful idea. In fact, I wonder if Vienna got her hands on my upcoming book The Goddess Year which encourages women to throw just such a soiree!
HOW TO THROW YOUR OWN SINGLE AND FABULOUS PARTY!
1. Don't invite any exes - or even talk about them. The party is about the future not about the past. Your ex is an ex for a reason right? As my aunt says, we don't eat our vomit.
2. The Guest List should be friends only, no frenemies, has-beens or guys you're currently dating. This is a celebration about you, you, you.
3. Do it big, like Vienna. Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, Paris. Go all out. Of course if you're on a budget do it up big in your apartment. Champagne wishes!
4. Encourage but don't expect gifts. Depending on what's going on budget-wise for the people you love they may want to gift you with little trinkets. This is not a mandate, however. Got it?
5. Have goodies for your friends who attend. You do, however, want to give gifts to your friends. I'm not saying be all Oprah "you get a car" about it. Some of the cutest things are the cheapest and giving will remind you that you are divine not desperate.
6. Have a good cry before or after the Single and Fabulous party. Tears are cleansing BUT don't make it a pity party. Pity Parties have different rules!

I think this is a terrific idea. It's important to have a shift in your attitudes and emotions after a break-up. There's no better way than to celebrate your "coming out" with your closest friends. You'll be able to feel more joy in your life and be open to the possibilities of meeting someone new.
