Time's 2008 Person of the Year contest is being entrusted to the public. Well, "the editors reserve the right to disagree," but they're opening up voting on who we think is the most fascinating, enigmatic, and influential person of 2008.
Some of the choices include easy picks like Michael Phelps (duh) and Barack Obama (double duh), but there are some more intriguing options as well, such as Tina Fey, Robert Mugabe, and T. Boone Pickens.
Click here to vote for your choice as Time's Person of the Year. SNL's Seth Meyers has already claimed the runner-up spot for his pal Tina Fey, because the smart money is on President-Elect Obama to take top honors.
Conspicuously absent from the list of contestants is Amy Winehouse, who definitely deserves some sort of award for publicly spending most of 2008 on the brink of death. Crackhead of the year, perhaps?

Comments
Your comment on Amy Winehouse is lazy and off the mark. This woman has been clean, off drugs for more than two months. She is living 100% of the time in hospital at London Clinic. Protected by professional security. Dedicated to getting rid of the JOE CAMEL image that has her the poster girl for drugs, worldwide. Please, raise your game, Allison. You're not working for Murdoch's The Drug Sun.
