House Beautiful presents the 2nd Annual 'Kitchen Of The Year', with help from Barefoot Contessa

House Beautiful Magazine will be hosting the 2nd annual 'Kitchen Of The Year' at Rockefeller Center from July 20th to July 24th.

Showcased in the same location where the famous Christmas tree stands each year, the kitchen will give consumers an opportunity to experience, in person, the dream designer kitchen. The desire it to bring House Beautiful's pages to life with 1,000 square-feet of cutting-edge culinary design and an additional 1,000 square-feet of outdoor entertaining space.

This year's kitchen is designed by the great Robert Stilin and inspired by cooking celebrity and Food Network star Ina Garten, or 'Barefoot Contessa'. If you've seen her show you might be aware that Garten is brilliant at creating a comfortable, welcoming and beautiful home environment, in addition to amazing food.

“I always believe that the simplest things are the most elegant – both in food and in the kitchen,” says Garten.

You may or may not know that Ina Garten, star of Food Network's Barefoot Contessa, started her culinary career not to far up in the Hamptons. It was there that she opened her specialty food store, called The Barefoot Contessa, and started writing her library of five successful cookbooks. Ina is also currently a contributor to House Beautfiul with her monthly column "Ask the Barefoot Contessa".

While the kitchen itself will be a draw, I would recommend dropping by when House Beautiful is presenting “Tastes of Summer”. The event will offer visitors a sampling of delicious food and beverages for a nominal fee from some of New York City’s most renowned restaurants daily from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. from Tuesday, July 21, through Thursday, July 23.  Participating restaurants include The Sea Grill, Morrell Wine Bar & Café, AJ Maxwell’s, Magnolia Bakery, Rock Center Café, and many more.
