SealBoy and the Blondes 3 at the Slipper Room.
SealBoy and the Blondes 3 was the latest exciting show to appear this summer at the Slipper Room in the lower eastside New York. The Slipper Room is noted for outlandish burlesque performances. These performances challenge the audience to interpret burlesque, queer storytelling, political thought and most of all humor in more contemporary and adult ways.
Seal Boy and the Blondes included performance by noted New York burlesque performers Julie Atlas Muz, Dirty Martini, Little Brooklyn, Bambi the Mermaid and Tigger. All Blonds but Tigger. Hosting the show from London was the captivating and amusing master of ceremonies Mat Fraser who goes by the title Seal Boy. For the final third set Our Lady J performed on the theaters' old piano Chopin's Nocturne in C minor while the rest of the cast nude dismantled the piano.
Some of the other skits performed that night were an all nude pie fight with a mutant, a recreation of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing with an American flag rising from the ass of Julie Atlas Muz as a space station lands on her butt cheeks and Bambi the mermaid doing a strip tease dressed as a giant lobster.
The Slipper room is a long and narrow club with a victorian stage. You are always close to the theatrics on stage including when the the entertainment spills out into the audience.
