Play station Slim
Sony Corp is finally cutting down the price of the Play station 3 by $100. It hopes that this price drop will increase sales during the holiday season. Additionally, the PS3 Slim is being pushed even more by Sony Corp.
The gaming industry has suffered from low sales and to date, there has been a 14% decrease in sales, but Sony has been suffering worse because of its low system sales. Many game developers are looking forward to the price drop because they will be able to sell their games now that people can afford the system.
According to the Telegraph, Japanese retailers have been told by Sony that the old PS3 model would stop being shipped to them as of last weekend. Amazon has also cut the price of some if most existing PS3 bundles, so that is an added indication of the PS3 Slim becoming a replacement for the PS3.
