Global temperatures have declined since 1998 (and here) while carbon emissions have risen, undermining the scientific argument for global warming. Now, the public release of hundreds of internal e-mails hacked from University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit (CRU) reveal data was changed in order to fit the model of global warming and support a global carbon tax and trade. This, suspiciously after CRU claimed to have lost or destroyed the data that would allow independent verification of CRU's claims.
Initial planning of the tax would cost Americans ~$100 billion every year, an average of ~$1,000 per each household's $50,000 annual income.
How come you do not agree with a statement that says we are no where close to knowing where energy is going or whether clouds are changing to make the planet brighter. We are not close to balancing the energy budget. The fact that we can not account for what is happening in the climate system makes any consideration of geoengineering quite hopeless as we will never be able to tell if it is successful or not! It is a travesty!
An example of data that was egregiously changed:
At the insistence of editors of the Royal Society's Philosophical Transactions B the data has leaked into the open - and Yamal's mystery is no more.From this we know that the Yamal data set uses just 12 trees from a larger set to produce its dramatic recent trend. Yet many more were cored, and a larger data set (of 34) from the vicinity shows no dramatic recent warming, and warmer temperatures in the middle ages.In all there are 252 cores in the CRU Yamal data set, of which ten were alive 1990. All 12 cores selected show strong growth since the mid-19th century. The implication is clear: the dozen were cherry-picked.

CRU head of research, Dr. Phil Jones, confirmed the leaked e-mails are authentic. E-mail discussions included how to discredit scientists whose data challenged CRU’s conclusions, hiding the decline in global temperatures over the last 11 years, blocking research other than in agreement with their conclusions from of peer-reviewed journals, and the actual programming codes to fraudulently change data to show temperatures higher than actual readings.

Really funny that conservative pundits are demanding indictment and prosecution for this ("climategate"), but falsifying information and drumming up false enthusiasm for an illegal war, and treason and malfeasance in office via numerous gross infringements on our constitutional rights isn't something we need to have been worried about the last 8 years...
I have to ask what's the point of proving that human-produced CO2 isn't a serious environmental problem?
Does this say that it's still a good idea to have an energy policy of ignoring alternatives, not mandating increased efficiency, using our nation's blood and treasury to fight wars for oil around the world?
We're still relying for our transportation increasingly on imported oil, burning dead dinosaur food in IC engines based on patents from the 1890s.
Long past time we initiated a national crash program on the scale of the Manhattan or Apollo programs, to break our dependence on the Saudis & fossil fuels.
Thanks for putting this together. I especially liked the last YouTube vignette where Senator Inhofe handed the NBC shill his axx in a hat. This scam has to be first investigated, then adjudicated before a judge and jury and if the allegations are true the Ph.D's and all responsible must do jail time. This has cost billions of dollars already and has cost many lost jobs; they have to pay for this with time to serve and not just loss of Tenure and prestige, they have to go to prison if this is true.
This climate change myth is the greatest scam on human history, this simply the product of ideologue left politicians such as Obama,Gore,Pelosi,Waxman,and Reid etc. just to satisfy their lust for power.

Yes we do need one. Has this administration offered one? Other than the one to stop creating any CO2?
Obama is going to offer to reduce our CO2 production by 83% by 2050, from 2008 levels. That would take us back to the production we had in the 1930's and 1940's. The time when we just started to become a manufacturing giant.
