On Friday, former Lipgloss resident DJ Soup (now spinning on Friday nights at the Sports Book) came back to play a guest set at La Rumba, following the official listening party for the new Minus the Bear album Omni. DJ Soup was joined by Lipgloss resident DJs Boyhollow and Chase Dobson, who played a variety of electro, indie and glam-rock tracks.
Minus the Bear is an indie-rock group from Seattle, Washington that incorporates elements of ambience and sonic experimentation while maintaining indie influences. The band features current and former members of Botch, Kill Sadie, and Sharks Keep Moving. Their sound is a combination of Pele-esque guitar-taps and electronics, with sophisticated time signature composition (source: Wikipedia).
This week's giveaways at Lipgloss included various swag, including copies of the new Minus the Bear album and tickets to Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory midnight screening at The Esquire Theater.
