As an alternative to the typical Valentine's Day events around town, last weekend Denver Cruisers hosted a cruiser bike and Valentine's Day-themed party and benefit for local charities called I (heart) Cruisers.
While the official Denver Cruiser ride doesn't start again until May, many people still rode their bikes to Casselman's Bar and Venue (2620 Walnut Street), despite the bitter February cold. The spacious bar quickly filled up with bicycle enthusiasts who came to mingle and check out all the cool cruiser bike swag and entertainment.
I (heart) Cruisers featured a bicycle-themed fine art photography exhibit by Todd Van Fleet, music by DJ Ginger Perry, face painting, cruiser bike show, giveaways that included free ski passes and other goodies, a silent auction, and much more. Proceeds from the auction went to the American Heart Association Heart Walk and Bike Denver. Jack Daniels, Finlandia Vodka, Kickstand Magazine, Turin Bicycles and Kryptonite were some of the sponsors of the event.
