Kate Walsh was in NYC Wednesday night to make a short appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman." She was promoting her show, "Private Practice," and sat on Letterman's couch to chat with the late night master. The "Private Practice" episode that aired last night was called "The Hard Part," and was about a traumatic medical situation her character stumbles upon in the woods. 
Here's the description from the show's website: “Addison (Kate Walsh) and Sam (Taye Diggs) perform urgent field care when, while out hiking, they stumble across a couple trapped in their car after an accident.”
Kate Walsh looked stunning in a one-shoulder short purple dress and black high heels. The actress started out on the hit show "Grey's Anatomy," then moved up to her own show, a spinoff called "Private Practice." She played the same character, Addison, in both, and sometimes makes appearance on "Grey's Anatomy" while starring in her own show.
