On Monday, April 4, 2011, Pierre Edwards, comedian/actor/producer/director, generates movie history in Atlanta, Georgia at the Uptown Comedy Club! With an electric array of celebrities including, but not limiting to, Actress Terri Vaughn, Comedian Rodney Perry, and Model Miyoki Jones among the invited guests in attendance, Pierre releases the “newest” genre of filmmaking – horromedy – with his pioneering release of “Slice”. “The funniest [horror] movie in years,” shouts a euphoric Pierre Edwards before appearing on stage to thank his friends and fans for their faithfulness.
After approximately four (4) months from script-to-screen, this ‘horromedy’ features Pierre Edwards as the Inspector Clouseau-like, lead detective searching for a serial killer that uses a machete as his ‘weapon of choice’. Fuel by the comedic antics of co-star, Greg Allen Williams, as the police precinct commander, and other local comedians and actors from the Atlanta-area, there is a mixture of exploding loud laughter, breath-taking ghostly gasps, and piercing scary screams resonating wall-to-wall…scene-to-scene…among the cozy, collection of filmgoers, cast members, and myself in the viewing of this freshly anointed movie.
Do you remember, while watching a horror movie, asking yourself insightfully, “Why is she going there? Who really says/does that? What actually happens if…?” Well, Pierre cleverly, and humorously, addresses those many questions (and more) with such parody that it envelops you throughout with endless anticipation. Amusingly, the movie has an interesting climatic ending that beckons a sequel. Overall, a must see movie for a memorable experience!
When asked about a sequel, Pierre stoically replies, “If Freddy [Krueger] can keep on living, then [bleep] I will keep dude on living…take it [bleep] long way to the bank…before I’d kill him!” In fact, he has already begun casting and production of such a sequel!
"A definite Cult Classic", boasts Pierre on his latest masterpiece. "A new force that is gonna give Tyler Perry a run!"
