The Kansas City Chiefs have decided that if they can lose with or without running back Larry Johnson, they'd rather do it without him.

Today Johnson was scheduled to return from his second suspension in a year, and the Chiefs released him.

Yep, just cut him. After a career filled with great runs, arrests, touchdowns, and embarassing media moments, the Chiefs just decided they were better off not waiting for the next catastrophe.

To add insult to, well, further insults, Johnson was just 75 yards away from breaking the team's rushing record currently held by Priest Holmes, or as homophobic-slur-dropping Larry might refer to him, "Priest Homo."

It wasn't so much Johnson shooting himself in the foot that bothered the Chiefs, it was his insistence on reloading and starting over that got to them.

Chiefs fans had been circulating a petition to keep Johnson from getting the record, thus bringing up the old saying "We can lose without you, Larry."
