2010 Seattle Seahawks draft class It really seems that the Seattle Seahawks went after quality pieces. They are in the middle of what can best be called a rebuild. They had to find a replacement for Walter Jones who retired, they had to get some more offensive weapons, and they had to find some guys in the later rounds that could contribute in some way. They also were looking to rebuild their defensive secondary. |

MTR Football's 2010 NFL mock draft: Seattle Seahawks second first round selection This pick is a tough sell, since in this mock draft the Seattle Seahawks already took QB Sam Bradford with the 6th overall pick. We can make a strong case for the Seahawks to take a Offensive Lineman here, but the way this draft has been shakling out, most of the top level Offensive Lineman have been selected already. |

Draft Day decision makers: Seattle Seahawks Of all the 32 NFL teams, the Seahawks have the biggest questions heading into the 2010 NFL Draft. Pete Carroll is the new head coach and Vice President. John Schneider is the new General Manager, and he team says the draft will be conducted by committee. |

2009 NFL Draft on year later: Seattle Seahawks The 2009 draft of the Seattle Seahawks shows the failure of pre draft player rankings. The draft is not a science, it is merely conjecture. I along with Mel Kiper and Todd McShay are wrong far more often then we are right. Last year everyone had LB Aaron Curry has the most NFL ready prospect in the draft. Many of us wanted him to go to St. Louis, I wanted my Lions to draft him, but he ended up not even being the best LB in that draft, and we could argue that he wasn’t even in the top ten of best prospects from the 2009 draft one year later. |

Seahawks make an agressive move to land a QB Seattle Seahawks new Head Coach Pete Carroll got his new QB today. It also seems that the team played a very high price for him. On Tuesday the Seattle Seahawks traded their 2010 2nd round pick and a 2011 third round pick to the San Diego Chargers and their 2010 2nd round pick. They then signed, the QB to a two year 10 million dollar contract extension. Many are calling this a crazy move, but is it all that more crazy than guaranteeing a NFL rookie QB 70 million dollars over the next five years? |

Seattle Seahawks 2010 NFL Schedule In 2002 the NFL changed its scheduling formula to insure that all 32 teams would play each other on a rotating basis. It sounds a little complicated, but can be broken down fairly easily.
Since the NFL currently plays in a 16 game schedule each teams yearly schedule is determined like this: |

NFL Complete.com's 2010 NFL Mock Draft: Seatle Seahawks first round selection Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma The way this draft is shaking out seems to favor the Seattle Seahawks. They are in desperate need of a new franchise QB, and at six it would be a lot easier to swallow either Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen. Since they have traded away back up Seneca Wallace, and Matt Hasselbeck is 34 it makes all kinds of sense to draft a QB with the sixth overall pick. |

What should the Seattle Seahawks do with their first round draft picks? With the 6th and 14th pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks are sitting in a very good position. They have options, draft a couple of blue chip prospects, trade one of those picks away to possible acquire additional picks, or work a trade to move up and get one of the studs of this draft. |

Fix the Franchise: Seattle Seahawks edition The bad news is there is a ton or work to do, the good news is they have two first round draft picks to get some of that work done. First and foremost it doesn’t seem that the Seahawks got the right head coach. Pete Carroll was a great College head man, but his record in the NFL is questionable at best. We have seen this before in Washington for example, a great College coach gets a NFL gig and does a very poor job running the team. My first action item in fixing the Seahawks would be firing Pete Carroll. |

2009 NFL season in review: Seattle Seahawks It seems that the Seattle Seahawks organization fell apart rather quickly. In the Winter of 2006 they were the NFC representatives to the Super Bowl, and after getting jobbed there it seems they never have been able to put it all back together again. Sure their team got old rather quickly, Shaun Alexander left the team before the year started. |

Have the Seattle Seahwaks violated the Rooney Rule? Well it is now official, former Head Coach of the USC Trojans Pete Carroll, is not the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. However it seems that the Seahawks may have completely ignored the spirit, if not flat out broke, the NFL Rooney Rule. This rule was put into place not only to help minority candidates get NFL jobs, but to slow the entire process down so that NFL teams do their homework and get the right man for the job. It seems that the Seahawks did just the opposite of that, knowing Carroll was ready to leave USC amidst probable NCAA sanctions they swooped in and hired him up without doing their due diligence .

Where will Mike Holmgren land? Mike Holmgren took the 2009 NFL season off as a promise to his family. Now it seems that 12 months of not being a part of the NFL has gotten to him and he is longing for a return. Since he has nothing left to achieve as a NFL Head Coach, he has won a Super Bowl, been to two others, and taken two different teams to the big show, he seems likely that he would like to pad his NFL resume with a stint as a NFL General Manager. For his first four seasons in Seattle Holmgren was both Coach and GM, but that rarely works out. Now there are several GM spots open, so the question seems to be where will he wind up. |

2009 Seattle Seahawks Draft Analysis After finishing the 2008 season with a 4-12 record we could argue that the Seahawks are starting an extensive rebuilding project. Head Coach Jim Mora along with President Tim Ruskell ran this draft by consensus. That usually isn’t a recipe for NFL success but we could argue that the Seahawks had one of the best drafts not only of the teams in the top of round one but of all 32 NFL teams. |
