Most men and women who first meet on a date talk over just about anything but health insurance. If you meet one Vista woman, your benefits package may come up.

Vista's Terri Carlson, a 45-year-old divorcee, is fighting a debilitating genetic disorder. In turn, she says she'll marry for health care coverage, as long as your co-pays are not too high.

According to Carlson, she has no good health care options at this time, hence why she is looking for a husband.

Carlson said that she has been turned down at every door when it comes to getting affordable health care due to her condition.

Reaching out for help, Calrson claims her proposal has received more than 5,000 e-mails from all over the world, all since Sunday.

Carlson, who has been a stay-at-home mom for more than two decades, notes she has never earned the required credits for Social Security payments to take effect.

Carlson, who is employed part-time in customer service from her Shadow Ridge Country Club home, said her disability, a deletion of C4 complement, prohibits her from being able to keep a full-time job. The rare condition results in a number of infections and severe pain.

According to Carlson, she has not much more than a year left on her federal COBRA health plan before she's removed. Her earnings hardly cover that plan now, its co-payments along with the more than dozen of different medications she reports that she needs.

Carlson notes that she's using friends to go over the many suitors who have expressed interest in helping her out.

Carlson adds she's a romantic and notes at some point she will locate the right man and love, something she notes she won't marry without.

Given the tough times many people have acquiring affordable health care, it should come as no surprise that some people will do anything to get the care they need.

Hopefully Terri Carlson finds that connection that will bring her peace and some good health insurance.
