San Diego area golf fans have followed the career of Tiger Woods with great interest over the years, as the world's most famous golfer has been a regular player at The Buick Open at Torrey Pines.

Now, golf fans locally and around the world have one question on their minds. Did Tiger's wife assault him prior to his having a car accident near his home in Windermere, Florida early Friday morning?

Reports are now coming to the surface that Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren Woods, actually assualted him and caused his injuries after discovering Tiger's alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel.

It is possible that Nordegren Woods could face legal problems if the alleged assault on her famous husband actually happened. Nordegren Woods is reportedly the only witness, after all, to Tiger's alleged accident. According to local police, the couple has asked for a delay until Sunday to discuss what happened with law enforcement.

The initial explanation for the car accident and Woods' injury did not add up for both fans and the media.

It was hard to imagine how Woods could have left his driveway, at 2:30 a.m. no less, hit a fire hydrant and a neighbor's tree, without setting off his SUV's airbags and then be discovered on the ground near his SUV (with its back window smashed) with a bleeding mouth and fading in and out of consciousness as his Nordegren Woods hovered over him.

According to one report, the National Enquirer is planning a major report on Tiger Woods cheating on Elin Nordegren with socialite Rachel Uchitel.

According to TMZ www.tmz.com, Woods informed a source shortly after the accident that this injuries were caused by his wife as she assaulted him.

Like many of us who heard the news on Friday and were left scratching our heads, there is more to this than meets the eye.

If the allegations are true, the golfing world may never look the same at Tiger Woods again for a number of reasons.

"..The golfing world may never look the same at Tiger Woods again for a number of reasons."

And what reasons would those be?
