Poll: Obama less popular than Palin in Virginia

President Barack Obama is throwing his weight around Virginia, but it may not be helping. Obama campaigned for Democrat gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds last week in McLean.

When asked if Obama's campaigning for Deeds for governor would help or hurt, only 14 percent of likely voters said it would make them more likely to vote for Deeds. Thirty-seven percent said it would make them less likely, a negative swing of 23 percent. Forty-nine percent were unsure.

Other the other hand, when asked if former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin campaigning for Republican Bob McDonnell would help or hurt, 26 percent said it would make them more likely to vote for McDonnell and 35 percent said it would make them less likely. This is a negative swing of 9 percent, which is considerably less than Obama's. Thirty-nine percent were unsure.  www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_VA_805513.pdf

Palin has not yet visited the Old Dominion on behalf of McDonnell, who currently leads Deeds 51-37, according to another PPP poll. www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_VA_80492583.pdf

The polling was done July 31 to Aug. 3.

Both VA and NJ will elect republican governors in November. This is just the beginning. 0bama's election in 2008 was a fluke, and the left knows it, that is why they and their media minions have stayed in campaign mode since the election, and their attempt to ram as many of their radical proposals through before people have a chance to vote them out of office starting in 2010. It's the same reason why the 0bama camp has continued their attacks on Palin, they know that among all the republicans, she is the one who poses the biggdest threat to his reelection in 2012.

More "birthers" more shout-downs at town hall meetings, and for god's sake, more Palin! Keep it up you right wing ideological morons. Most Americans who actually employ reason and thought can see you are continuing to dig yourself deeper into a hole. Keep up the increasingly incoherent babble, in fact yell louder! The only acceptable facts in any debate are the one's that reinforce your position, right? Keep it up until the entire Republican political machine is nothing more than a cartoon. By 2012, your work will be done and everyone in America will finally be able to draw clear distinctions between the politics of spoiled shouting children and the politics of thought.

In the meantime, be grateful that you live in a liberal democracy that allows nut jobs like we see today in and around the Republican party to have a clear and unrestricted public voice.

Palin is a joke and Republicans are insane if they think that women can get elected Pres. If this country votes the Dems out, it will be for the Green Party, not Republicans. I guess you idiots have not gotten the message yet that Rush and the rest who took control of your party have killed your chances. Lord forbid you actually look at the devastation your money driven party has done to this country. So much for your Christianity and responsibility. You people are stagnant idiots who will see the how much the world has come to hate your arrogant racist ways. America ain't #1 anymore, thanks to your kind.

Experience in losing and being a quitter? That is what she has experience in. The people who stand up for her are dupes who grasp a fading empire that never was. You pretend that everything is just fine, just like they show on TV. Lord forbid you Republicans should have to change your American ways, being God Given and all. Now the degradation of the earth you have spearheaded worldwide and the weapon tech you still sell will come back like an evil wind to haunt you. Obama getting elected saved your arse and you are too dense to know it. The reason we are still doing poorly is that Obama helped out your people's boys, big business, and not us, The People. And so did the Dems.

    To the Palin Haters-

What are you afraid of? If you believe everything you say I'd think you would be very happy. You seem angry and afraid and always resort to disparaging remarks about Palin or Republicans. Let go of your anger and your fear. It is wasted energy.

Once again you ascribe fear to us. There is far more side-splitting laughter than anything else in regards to Palin. And it is not Palin we dislike as much as people so ignorant that they don't even listen to her words and try to make sense of them. The kind of people who have frat boy mentality and act like this is a sports game with our team and yours. She is your brand so you show up to show support. That is a dying paradigm America can no longer afford. We have real challenges to face. We need a real Republican party to offer a balanced opinion. Palin and her ilk don't even come close to cutting it. The people who support her are the root cause. You are far too easily distracted by nationalism.
But I 100% agree with her on localization being the answer right now.

Palin has God in her heart and she has honesty and love of God and Country and that is why she is able to rally us all. Sarah Palin is very much like all of us and that is why we all connect with her, we are tired of the greedy power hungry government we have in WD and that is why she can connect with people so well. They know she has what it takes and what she has will rally the people ten times more than Obama did because he lied to get votes and she is with all of us wanting for her family, less government, less control, and against the greed and power grabbing administration we have now. This administration spends money like kids in a candy store, they have parties we pay for and instead of curbing their spending they have gone wild, it isn't their money so why not have what they want.

One thing is for certain. If Palin comes into campaign she will not haughtily tell the 50%+against this so called reform that they should shut up and get out of the way. What a class act that president is...NOT.

Obama was never that popular in Virginia. He was popular in Northern Virginia, Richmond and Charlottesville which has allowed Democrats to win in this state for several elections now.

Sarah Palin is popular in rural Virginia. I can't figure out why. My deal with Sarah Palin is that she isn't intellectually curious. I was okay with McCain until he picked Sarah Palin. The truth is Sarah Palin can win people over with her personality and folksiness, but she's not the sharpest tool in the shed by any stretch of the imagination. I want the sharpest tool in the shed leading America.

I often wonder when people say Sarah isn't sharp, how many of them have actually read her papers, vs base their bias on SNL. Granted, she needs to work on this public perception, but she can do it. And do it w/out a beloved teleprompter.
