America really is the land of the free. I'm not talking about the Bill of Rights (although I'm a huge fan). No, I'm talking about America's love and appreciation for free stuff.
If exercising your civic duty as a citizen isn't enough incentive to vote in this historic election, in true American form, you can also get free stuff for pushing buttons and pulling a lever that'll determine your future ... and your children's future ... oh, and your children's children's. No pressure, though.
As your Newcomer Examiner, it's my duty to help you discover Seattle. So once you're done voting, I recommend exploring the Election Night parties and the spots where, God bless America, you can get free stuff for doing something you should be doing anyway. Here are a few:
1.) Free Coffee at Starbucks - Forget Joe the Plumber. Pick up a free cup of Joe at Starbucks, available on Election Day to anyone who votes (you can ask for an "I Voted" sticker at the polls).
2.) Free Babycakes at Cupcake Royale - Show up at Cupcake Royale and tell them how much you *heart* suffrage (or that you voted) and get a free mini cupcake. Sweet, sweet democracy.
3.) Free Giveaway at Babeland - Cake and coffee not your cup of tea? Well, stop by any Babeland with your voter registration card or voting stub from Nov. 4-11 and receive a free sex toy in exchange.
4.) Free Election Night Parties - There are a host of free Election Day parties happening all around town, complete with refreshments. There are even some spots, like Nectar's, offering happy hour deals to voters all night long.
Nationwide, aside from Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Ben & Jerry's are also offering up free treats to voters. Sure, it might sound like bribery (and slightly illegal) but hey - it's a free country.

So illegal.
I don't believe it's illegal to reward someone for having voted: it IS illegal to give someone something IN ADVANCE to vote, I think, and it might be illegal to reward someone for having voted A PARTICULAR WAY.
