Last season Jets linebacker Calvin Pace joined the After-School All-Star (ASAS) “Touchdown Shutdown” program to support after-school activities for kids in Atlanta. On Wednesday March 17th Calvin continued his participation in this program as he spent the day at the BEST Academy for Boys in Atlanta, Georgia. Pace, an Atlanta native where he attended Lithia Springs High School, participated in a site visit as well as took the time to speak with several students about the importance of staying in school in addition to commending them for their participation in after-school programs. At the end of Calvin’s question and answer session with the students, the Jets star linebacker presented a check for $5,500 for the 55 tackles that he had in the 2009 season. The After-School All-Star program will use Pace’s donation to buy supplies as well as help fund and staff new activities.
