In this post today I want to give thanks to you: my dear readers and subscribers. I want to thank those who've contributed, those who have commented, those who have edited. And also those of you who have been quietly and silently reading each day as well. I know you are out there, and I hope that each of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I've written about gratitude a lot. I wondered whether to write about it again today, on Thanksgiving Day. There's other stuff I can write about, but I decided it can wait. I decided that on this day there is nothing more important than to remind ourselves of the spiritual concept of gratitude.
Some folks have a tough time with the holidays. The ones who spend time with family complain that it is always an unpleasant experience. Some folks spend the holiday alone, lonely. Some folks don't have enough money to buy the fixings for a great Thanksgiving Day spread. And some folks complain about eating too much on this day.
Rather than complain today, try practicing gratitude. Try being grateful for that which you have. If you are spending time with family, seek to give and help and understand. Practice unconditional love, instead of fear and judgement. If you are alone, revel in the magic that you are. Connect with whatever-you-want-to-call-god, and know. If your cupboards are resembling Mother Hubbard's cupboards today and are a bit bare, be grateful for one of the many institutions that will be serving up a free Thanksgiving meal today. Go, and enjoy it, and express your gratitude freely and openly.
Today I am grateful for so much! I am grateful for Spirit, for that connection which allows me to be at peace. Spirt is all, it is the beginning and the end and the middle, and it always tops my gratitude list. I am grateful for my health, which allows me to be active and have a full life. I am grateful for my clients, both in my Spiritual Counseling and Coaching business, and in my photography business. They pay for my services and products, allowing me to continue to do what I love, and to pay my own bills. I am grateful for my pets, who provide me with unconditional love, my mentors that provide me with support and learning, my friends and family who provide me with companionship, and my honey, who provides me with so much more!
I am grateful for life itself! For all it's ups and downs, ins and outs, quirks and mysteries, problems and solutions. And I wish the same sort of gratitude for you.
I hope you enjoy your day today, I hope you are able to practice gratitude today and every day, and experience all the gifts and joy that life has to offer.
Happy Thanksgiving!
