Author Rosalyn Cherry with donations collected for Family of New Paltz
New Paltz author Rosalyn Cherry kicked off her "Inspiration Tour" this past Friday, Nov. 6th, at Inquiring Minds Bookstore. In support of Family of New Paltz, she filled the venue as she collected donations and shared motivational tips for letting go of too much stuff. Rosalyn uses her experience as a professional organizer, in conjunction with her book be clutter FREE: Sorting Made Simple, to engage participants in entertaining workshops that help them delve into the emotional blocks they face when they find themselves incapable of letting go of their unused items.
“There’s nothing that makes me happier when I can set up a win-win situation,” said Rosalyn, “When they realize that it’s going to a charity for families and people who have so much less.” She explained that people who have had trouble letting go of things find it much easier to part with items they once cared for if they know they're going to a good cause. Cherry went on to express that she wishes to inspire people to “consume less and share more” and that she will continue to do so all across the Hudson Valley for the remainder of the holiday season. “Rather than put things in storage,” Cherry encourages, “give them to people who can use them right now.”
As her Inspiration Tour progresses, Rosalyn will be traveling to multiple counties in the Hudson Valley for the purpose of boosting support for local charities. Anyone intersted in suggesting a venue or charity should contact Rosalyn at publicity@beclutterfreebook.com.
