5. How did you first hear about derby?
When I lived in Baltimore, I saw flyers for Roller Derby up, in the local shops. I walked by a booth at the "Hon-Fest" in Baltimore, too. Just found myself intrigued at that point.
6. What made you decide to join?
When I moved to New England, it was like starting over. Most of my friends and all of my family lived elsewhere. Got restless, and I was looking for a hobby to pick up and maybe acquire new friends out of this. I tried sewing, tried to start up some artwork, go to the gym, and I thought I would get hooked on something. But nope, nothing would stick. I got asked, by some girls one evening, if I would be interested in playing roller derby. They told me it was a startup league. Starting a league is really really really hard! Well worth it though. Had to learn to skate and all that. I fell in love with Derby after that. Best hobby EVER!
7. Favorite Part of the Game…
Favorite Part is actually preventing a jammer from getting through. Even for a few seconds. I'd rather booty block a jammer and have her sitting in the back of the pack, then going in for a good hit. Runs down the clock for the opposing team and prevents scoring. OH! And the After Party!!!
8. Least Favorite Part of the Game…
When you're not playing...lol. There's also the whole, injury thing. Man, that sucks. There's a bunch of stuff that stinks about injuries. First, you don't get to play. Second, you're immobilized in some way. That makes you a sad camper. Third, the amount of excersise could be minimal, and that totally can make you depressed. Excersise release's endorphins, which pick you up, when you're feeling down. boo to sitting on the couch!
9. Best Derby Story…
I think it had to be, when the Montreal, New Skidz on the Block needed some bodies for their roster. They were off to play Albany's, Empire Skate Troopers. Their travel team was down a few bodies. I offered help, not thinking that it would happen. I was going to Albany to watch them play, anyway. On Friday, they were like "you still offering to skate?" and i was like "oh hell yea!" So, me and my bud Anita BangHer hit the road! We were going to play with a WFTDA team! International Even! So me and BangHer expected to play alternates, NOPE, we played most of the time!! And Montreal won! wahooooooo!!! Those girls are the best! learned so so much!
10. Best (or Worst) Derby Injury…

Here's two! So I got a picture of the blister, that I got while playing the Montreal Roller Girls. I learned a valuable lesson about blisters that day! A huge hematoma from Providence Killah Bee's (WHOM WE ARE PLAYING 4/25!).
