If you have tickets for the December 6th Patriots game down in Miami, you might want to think about showing up a little early.

The formerly prime-time game against the Miami Dolphins has been "flexed" back to a 1:00pm start. NBC will instead air a match-up between the Minnesota Vikings and the Arizona Cardinals.

Apparently, NBC thinks that more people want to see Brett Favre try to knock off the defending NFC champions than would want to see the Patriots attempt to knock off the Ronnie Brown-less Dolphins.

Maybe it's a slight, maybe it's an insult, more likely it's just that NBC doesn't enjoy watching Miami's boring offense, but I don't care. I'm happy. I'm not a big fan of Sunday Night games, and I'll gladly take another 1:00pm game in its place.

That said, this national love affair with Brett Favre is bordering on unhealthy. It's too easy to blame NBC, ESPN, or the NFL. The fact is, Brett Favre has been a massive ratings draw this season. People love watching the guy.

I just don't get it.

I wish I could believe it was people tuning in to see Adrian Peterson, one of the best running backs in the NFL.

But it's not.

It's Brett Favre.

Well, hopefully the NFL world will enjoy watching Brett Favre in a couple of weeks in another prime-time game. Personally, I'll enjoy getting to bed early that night.

The Patriots getting bumped? Next thing you know they'll blow a 13-point second half lead...
Seriously, the Vikes-Cards is not only a premiere matchup (probably between the #2 and #3 seeds in the NFC), but a matchup of two Hall of Fame QBs who are playing at a Pro Bowl level this season. Makes sense.
