The winter snow storm that is blanketing the east coast has caused Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley to issue a state of emergency for all of Maryland Saturday. Cecil County began to experience snow fall after midnight Saturday with Elkton seeing two inches of snow around 2am. Maryland State Troopers are urging people to stay off the roads today. Snow plows have been plowing the major travel routes all morning and into the afternoon. In Delaware, New Castle and Kent counties were issued a state of emergency by Governor Jack Markell. Non-emergency vehicles are urged to remain off the roads today until the state of emergency is lifted.
Local events scheduled for the afternoon and evening have been canceled. One church, Victory In Praise Fellowship Church located on 128 North Bridge Street in Elkton, MD has canceled church service for Sunday. Check with your local church to see if they will be open tomorrow morning. The Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware closed at 3pm Saturday.

I'm in New Castle county now. I had to drive to work from my sister's house who lives close to my job. That was a lonnnnng three miles. If you don't have to drive tonight be glad. Put some corn in the microwave and watch the History Channel.
