Pleasure P nominated for three 2010 Grammy Awards amidst allegations of child molestation charges. The 2010 Grammy Awards nominees were announced Wednesday night, and Pleasure P is up for three Grammy's. The Introduction of Marcus Cooper, Pleasure P’s debut solo album is up for Best Contemporary R&B Album. Other artists in that category are Beyonce, Trey Songz, Jamie Foxx and T-Pain. Pleasure P’s single ‘Under,’ is up for Best R&B Song and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Pleasure P was the lead singer for Pretty Ricky, but was fired in 2007 for reasons they would not disclose, but in a statement they made it clear that he was let go and that he did not leave willingly.
Pleasure P has been plagued with rumors of child molestation. On Tuesday, Twitter user Laura Goldstein “AGoldsteinGirl” posted alleged court documents that show Pleasure P (born Marcus Cooper) was accused of molesting a four year old child, but found guilty in Broward County, Florida.
Laura Goldstein is the daughter of Pleasure P’s attorney, and she posted the photos of the documents and are downloadable.
Pleasure P issued a statement Thursday about the alleged rumors in a 2006 child molestation case.
"All of the recent rumors and accusations that are being circulated about me are 100% false,” Pleasure P said through his attorneys. “They are disgusting and vile; and they are being spread by individuals with their own sick agendas.”
“The purported documents that are also being circulated are forgeries,” Pleasure P said in the statement released by his attorney’s in New York. “I have never met or known anyone by the name of "AGoldstein" or Laura Goldstein or Ashley Goldstein, which I believe are fictitious names,” Pleasure P said in the statement.
“I have never been represented by an attorney named Goldstein. For someone to go to such depths to assassinate my character and slander my good name is truly criminal. My attorneys are investigating this matter and will take all necessary and appropriate action to protect my name and reputation."
Pleasure P's story has created in internet buzz today because he was nominated for three Grammy awards last night. Over 100 comments have been left on Twitter about Pleasure P and the allegations.
