Tuesday. (John Rieger/US Presswire).
The list of awards continue for Senior defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh as he was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The honor, in which is voted on by all the Big 12 head coaches was announced on Tuesday morning. It just goes to show not only the impact Ndamukong has made on not only the Huskers but also on the Big 12, helping rid the conference of the image that it plays no defense.
The award comes as no surprise as the pre-season pick for the honor has dominated his final season as a Husker by racking up 70 tackles, 16 for loss as well as seven and a half sacks. Along with those impressive stats were some rarely seen by a defensive tackle such as three blocked field goals, 10 pass breakups as well as a huge interception against Missouri. Aside from all his player of the week honors, this is Ndamukong Suh's first award for the season as a whole, expect many more to come in the following weeks.
